Farewells and a Welcome!

Thursday 15 March saw Co-op and Club staff and their partners come together at The UpFront Club to farewell Ruth Parnell as editor of the Maple Street Co-op News and Leigh Findlay as a Director and Chair of the Board. But it wasn’t all tears and goodbyes. The evening was also a welcome party for yours truly and I certainly felt a lot of warmth and support from everyone.

The staffers appeared to cope well with having numerous speeches thrust upon them after a busy day at the Co-op and Club, with scrummy finger food supplied by the Club as a gastronomic enticement.
Alan Harrington spoke at length about the wonderful work both Ruth and Leigh (Findlay) had contributed to the Co-op and both were bid adieu with a big round of applause. They will be missed but no doubt it’s not the last we’ll see of their community involvement.
