Design a New Co-op Logo

As the Maple Street Co-op and The UpFront Club will soon legally become one entity, and as they expand into their upgraded and extended premises, changes are required to our public image (e.g., to signage, stationery, logos, etc.). Our image needs to convey not only what we stand for, but also needs to be easily and well recognised in marketing terms. This is no easy task, and the Board is making a request for membership input, as the members are the true owners of the co-operatives.

The Board is offering a $200 prize to the designer of the logo that the Board judges to be the most suitable and that best reflects the values that the new Co-op (incorporating the two original co-ops) will stand for. Thus, the design should encapsulate those aspects of the existing Maple Street Co-operative and The UpFront Club that members see as important.

Currently, Maple Street Co-op has two logos in use – one featured on our shop signage and the other on our newsletter, stationery and cloth bags – and The UpFront Club has one as well.

Although a logo is required for the new co-operative entity, the designs submitted may also focus on logos to be used for the two individual trading arms, the Maple Street Co-op Shop and The UpFront Club, and may incorporate aspects of the old logos if you so wish. The designs should be applicable as a marketing tool. The Board reserves the right to approve the final design(s).

The Board would appreciate any input from the members. Once the design has been approved by the Board, it will be referred to a professional designer for finalisation. Design submissions can be mailed or emailed to the Co-op (maplest.coop@serv.net.au) or dropped in at the counter.
