A Fond Farewell to Pamela Harrison

Long-time Co-op staff member Pamela Harrison has not only decided to leave the Co-op but also Maleny. She has sold up and is looking at greener pastures in the Gold Coast hinterland in order to be closer to family. Of course, she is taking her precious canine companion Dani with her.

Pamela has been with the Co-op for a little over eight years and has been a delightful presence on the team. She started out as our back-up person and soon found herself working a lot more than she'd anticipated. In more recent years, she has reverted to a more traditional back-up role – and what a wonderful help she has been.

No matter how late was the notice to come in and fill in a shift, Pamela would do it – often at the cost of her own arrangements. This usually meant that she had to pass up a coffee with some of her many friends, particularly the "11 o’clock Coffee Club" at The UpFront Club.

Pamela has been a pleasure to work with and to count as a friend. Her inherent grace, politeness and good manners have added a very special touch to our operations, and I'm sure that these qualities as well as her sincerity and enthusiasm have been appreciated by all of our members.

I might add that Pamela is the only staffer to refuse to divulge her age. Like all ladies, she politely declines to be drawn into this subject – and has done so despite some in-depth probing by various staff members from time to time!
On behalf of the staff, directors and members, I wish Pamela all the very best in her new pursuits and hope she'll visit us in Maleny before too long.
