Become a Member

There are many benefits to being a member of Maple Street Co-operative, including having the opportunity to participate in Co-op activities and receiving a 5% discount on all items you purchase.

To become a member of Maple Street Co-op, you first need to complete and sign an application form and submit it to the Co-op together with $25.00 to cover the price of your share. As soon as your application is approved by the Board of Directors, your share certificate will be forwarded to you.

To continue your membership, you need to pay an annual subscription fee of $11.00, due on 1 July. This fee helps in covering the special costs of operating the Co-op and ensures that you continue receiving a 5% discount on all purchases. Upon paying the annual subscription, you will be issued with a new subscription card. If you pay by mail, your card will be posted back to you directly. To be assured of the discount, you'll need to present your card when making a purchase, but we also have a list of active members at the counter in case you forget to bring it.

Under the Cooperatives Act, we have to cancel your membership if you become unfinancial and 'inactive'.
